Visiting the Facebook HQ in Dublin!

For a long time we have preached that Facebook isn’t the “fly” people think it is, which has been a hot discussion topic in the traditional media world for quite some time. With 2 billion users and a two-day visit at the headquarters in Dublin it is clearer than ever that Facebook is more than “just” a few apps on your phone.

So what did SocialView do in rainy Dublin? Let us summarize our two days at The Big Brother within social media.

Day 1

We met with our partner Johnny and got a private tour of the HQ in Dublin. Together with other HQs nearby such as Google, Amazon, LinkedIn, Microsoft & Twitter, this part of Dublin is the major hub for tech-geeks. Our partner Johnny takes us through the headquarters, here in their Showroom for different Business Success Stories on Facebook & Instagram. Facebook has an impressive infrastructure with 10 computer centers that handle the data from 2 billion people. One of these centers you can actually find in Sweden, more particularly in Luleå!

Day 2

Time for FB Blueprint Live! Facebooks own live-educations for adverstisers and firms with a focus on developing and building better strategies for advertisements on Facebook and Instagram. Together with firms and advertisers from all over Europe, we got to put our knowledge to the test during a full day of learning.

Our visit at Facebook led to us now taking SocialView further to a new level with new course of action, structures and processes in order to always be up to date when it comes to advertisements and technical solutions on social media.

Thanks for having us Facebook!

According to Facebook themselves they have only made a few percent of their total plan. With their new statement “Bring the world closer together” they now have an even larger responsibility to create a platform for 2 billion people, including all advertisers. Groups and the merging of people on the platform is taking it to a new level, and Facebook is taking even more steps towards updates similar to WeChat and Tripadvisor.

“For the last decade or so we’ve been focusing on making the world more open and connected. But I used to think that if we just give people a voice and help some people connect that that would make the world a whole lot better by itself. Look around and our society is still so divided. We have a responsibility to do more, not just to connect the world but to bring the world closer together.” — Mark Zuckerberg June 22, 2017
